PROVEN LEADERSHIP FOR FAYETTE COUNTY

Fayette County is fortunate to have incredible leaders on our school boards, city councils, judicial positions, commissioners court, and state offices.  I hope that my service to our community through our most difficult times will earn your trust and earn your vote as the next County Judge of Fayette County.

I am your  Chief of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  The County Judge is my direct superior, and by statute the County Judge is also the Director of Emergency Management.  I believe Emergency Management is the most important of all of the duties for the County Judge.  My office is on the 3rd floor of our historic and beautiful courthouse.

During my tenure at Fayette County we have faced some difficult times including the worst freeze in Texas history, destructive flood events, and a worldwide pandemic.  I'm proud of the accomplishments we made during these difficult events.

During the freeze my team worked collaboratively to get water to those who needed it, shelter to those who did not have it, and food to those who were hungry.  After the snow thawed, we immediately met with all the stakeholders in the county to develop plans to be more resilient in the future. Those plans are being put in place right now, but we have more that needs to be done.

Covid-19 brought sorrow and death to the whole world.  I worked hard to keep you informed of all that was going on, even if the news was difficult. We overcame the hurdles of a rural community by providing gloves and masks to nursing homes, the first drive through testing in rural Texas, and vaccines to those who desired to be vaccinated. Because of these efforts, Fayette County has consistently ranked among the top counties in Texas and in the USA for handling the crisis.

Im proud to call Fayette County my forever home.  All of my children were born as Fayette County residents and one of my children, my only son, is buried here.  One day, I will be buried here as well.

My wife, Jamie, and our three daughters, Reagan, Madison, and Lincoln, and I know that we live in a special place.  Fayette County holds true to the values that made our country great.  The citizens of this unique county strive to pass these values on to every subsequent generation.

We are involved in 4H, FFA, church activities, medical mission trips, and local sports.  In our free time we enjoy restoring our 1800's era home, working in our small vineyard, and playing with our rescue dogs.

I am the Chair of the Workforce Commission for Rural Texas, founder of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a member of the Homeland Security Task Force and Regional Intelligence Center, as well as a board member of the Gardenia E. Jansen Animal Shelter.  I'm proud to be auxiliary member of the Fayette County Republican Women.

I look forward to this campaign, and hope to see you soon!  Please consider sharing this page on your social media, and donating to the campaign if you are able to do so.
